Insulating glass consists of two or more glass panes separated by a spacer in the middle and sealed at the edges to create a dry, enclosed space. Based on the type of spacer used, it can be classified into two categories: cold edge and warm edge processes. Cold edge involves high-conductivity aluminum spacers, while warm edge uses low-conductivity materials like stainless steel or composite rubber strips. To ensure optimal insulation, dual sealing is applied—typically a first seal of butyl glue, followed by polysulfide or silicone structural glue depending on installation needs.
